Put simply, the Vertical Mapper Data Aggregation utility automatically reduces the number of points in a point file. This utility is typically used when there are too many points to efficiently process into a grid surface.

Also, data aggregation can be used to eliminate coincident points and to pre-smooth highly variable data. Unique to Vertical Mapper, this utility can calculate and append statistical information to each aggregated point. This provides you with valuable insight into the aggregation process.
